!!!Crazy Cricket!!!
Year Five cricket day with Dan and Mr Boustead (in shorts!)
We started the day seperating into two groups.Dan took one group and Mr Bousted took the other group. We did three different activeities, they where bowling, batting and fielding.
FIELDING
We practiced fielding by getting into our groups and someone was batting while the rest of the group where standing in a big square. When people had hit the ball the rest of the of the group paraded around the square trying to catch the flying cricket ball. It was quite complex. Since it turned out to be a wrestling match I do not want to mention who won. The coach stopped the match and now we got back to buisiness but the problem was the best catcher was wasn't batting.
BOWLING
We also practiced bowling, so we set up the six stumps. In our group we got split up into 4 groups in our origianal group which was half of the class (oh my gosh that is confusing!!). What we did was, in our group you bowled the ball towards the six stumps and if you hit it, you got one point. Also, from your team another person would be the wicket keeper, so if the ball went over the stumps, they would catch it. When you had had your go you would be the wicket keeper. The person who was the wicket keeper for your go then had to go to the back of the line and it kept going round like that. Going back the issue of stumps and points. If there was six stumps and you hit them, you get one point (as I said before). If there were five stumps, two points.Four stumps, three points. So the number of stumps goes down and the number of points goes up!
